NMBI TO CLOSE ITS PORTAL FROM 20‑27 AUGUST

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has advised registrants that its MyNMBI online portal will be unavailable for a week in August while the board transitions to a new system. The upgrade is part of a wider project to make the digital registration service easier to use, with the updated portal expected to launch at the end of August 2025.
MyNMBI will close from 20 August to 27 August as data are transferred to the new platform. During this period applicants will not be able to access their accounts. NMBI says the temporary shutdown will allow it to migrate existing information and improve the user experience once the system goes live later in August. The portal is due to reopen after 27 August .
Applicants have been told to complete and submit any draft applications before 20 August. Incomplete or “draft” applications cannot be transferred to the new system; any documents uploaded but not formally submitted will not move across. Those unable to finish their application by the deadline should save copies of all their documents, as they will have to restart the process on the new portal. If an application has already been submitted and is being processed, no further action is required, NMBI will migrate it automatically.
Applicants are also reminded not to create a new account if they already have a MyNMBI account or were previously registered with NMBI. New accounts should only be created by individuals who have never interacted with the board before. The board has apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked users for their patience.
Once the new system goes live, NMBI expects it will provide a smoother registration experience for nurses and midwives. In the meantime, applicants should submit their applications as soon as possible and keep copies of all documents before the 20 August deadline.
