LIST OF APPROVED ADAPTATION CENTERS ACCORDING TO NMBI

If you’re a nurse or midwife qualified outside the EU and planning to practice in Ireland, completing an adaptation period at an approved healthcare facility is often part of the process. The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) requires that adaptation periods take place in designated, approved healthcare facilities.

What Is an Adaptation Period?

Before diving into the approved facilities, it’s essential to understand what an adaptation period entails. Adaptation is a supervised period during which nurses or midwives trained outside the EU can demonstrate competence in a clinical setting. It is usually an option when an individual’s qualifications are deemed to require additional practical experience before they can be fully registered in Ireland.

During this period, the candidate will work under the supervision of registered staff while being assessed on their professional competence, communication skills, and adaptability to the Irish healthcare system.
