NMBI launches public consultation for Strategy 2026–2029

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has launched a public consultation to shape its Statement of Strategy 2026–2029. The consultation runs from 5 August to 2 September 2025 and invites input from nurses, midwives, patients, service users, stakeholders and the public.

According to NMBI, the draft strategy is anchored on three objectives: public safety through right‑touch regulation, support for the professions of nursing and midwifery, and organisational agility. The Board notes progress under its current strategy (2023–2025) in digital transformation and stakeholder engagement.

NMBI encourages broad participation to ensure the final strategy reflects the evolving needs of the health system. Feedback can be provided via the consultations page after reviewing the draft document.
